Apply Through UA Admissions

All students must apply for readmission to the College through the UA Office of Admissions. The Office of Admissions will notify the College of a student’s pending application.

Engineering students seeking admission to an alternate college must obtain written permission to re-enroll from the dean of the desired college. The Office of Admissions will process the application for readmission according to the recommendation of the dean.

Please refer to the Office of Admissions website for deadlines. Late applications will not be accepted.

Students in Good Academic Standing

Engineering students who left the University in good academic standing must have been making progress toward their degree at the time of their departure to be considered for readmission to the College of Engineering.

Students seeking readmission, who were not on academic probation or under disqualification upon departure from the University, are eligible to return upon application for readmission if fewer than 12 college-level units have been attempted at other post-secondary institutions.

Students who have attempted 12 or more college-level units at other post-secondary institutions must submit an official transcript of all coursework. A minimum cumulative grade-point-average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale is required for coursework completed at other institutions.

Readmission applications are processed on a first-in, first-out basis. If you left in good standing, you can expect the process to take four to six weeks from the time we receive your complete application. This time frame may increase during our peak processing time.

Students in Poor Standing – Academic Probation or Disqualification

Students seeking readmission who left the University on academic probation or under disqualification must receive approval from the dean of the college they wish to enter before readmission.

For readmission to the College of Engineering:
After receiving the request for readmission from the Office of Admissions, the Engineering Academic Affairs Office will send, either by mail or email, the student a Petition for Academic Review, a letter stating the deadline for completion of the petition and a request for unofficial transcripts from any institution the applicant has attended since leaving the University.

The College Readmission Committee will review the petition, unofficial transcripts and UA coursework. Students who have attended other institutions must show significant academic improvement in engineering degree required courses and earned a 3.00 GPA in that coursework to be considered for readmission. Students will be notified by mail or e-mail of the committee’s decision.

Students who left the College while on academic probation or disqualification can expect the process to take up to 12 weeks.
